Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Commanders were there to profit. Lathan Ransom, the No. 110 name on the board, should have been long gone before slot 207. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

If Vinson pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with tight end the one that mattered most.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
