If confidence were a draft strategy, the Commanders would have aced it. James Williams Sr. at the 224th pick is 68 spots clear of where he belonged. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

A whole weekend of picks and offensive lineman is somehow still a want. They banked enough surplus on Trigg to cover a lot of smaller sins. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
