Good, not great, for the Commanders: B-. Every other box got a look, but offensive lineman did not. The Commanders will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
The cost of the Singleton reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They banked enough surplus on Anderson to cover a lot of smaller sins. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
T.J. Parker
In the 12th overall pick they get a premier pass rusher. A real need, handled.
Pick78
Rnd3
Nicholas Singleton
They paid up for Nicholas Singleton at the Round 3 slot when waiting would have done the job. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick152
Rnd5
Nic Anderson
Nice patience on Nic Anderson, who had no business lasting to pick No. 152. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick192
Rnd6
Jaren Kanak
Jaren Kanak at the 192nd pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick203
Rnd6
Raylen Wilson
No drama and no debate, Raylen Wilson went about where he belonged in No. 203. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick229
Rnd7
Ricardo Hallman
They liked Ricardo Hallman enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 229. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
