Draft Grade — Colts
Overall C+
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesF FutureA
The Colts lost the trade table, and the C+ tells the story.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Colts shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Call it a C+ and check back in two years.

Spending an early pick on safety with wide receiver, quarterback and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

On value alone, Cooper makes the weekend a net positive.

So much rides on Chop Robinson that the real verdict is a season or two away.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Chop Robinson
In pick 32 they get a premier pass rusher at fair value.
Pick46 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
They paid up for T'Vondre Sweat at slot 46 when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick69 Rnd3 Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper at pick No. 69 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick82 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
Zak Zinter at Round 3, Pick 18 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick117 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop in the 117th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick125 Rnd4 James Williams
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the 125th pick on James Williams with wide receiver, quarterback and other spots unsolved.
Pick153 Rnd5 Edefuan Ulofoshio
Edefuan Ulofoshio in the Round 5 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
Pick193 Rnd6 Christian Jones
Nothing to complain about; Christian Jones went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
