Draft Grade — Colts
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureC
Manning is the plan now, and the Colts grade out a D-.

Somebody took the Colts to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. It grades a D-, and the process earned it.

Whatever Arch Manning becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. The Collins pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, running back very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Arch Manning
In pick No. 4 they get the arm they will build around. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick40 Rnd2 Avieon Terrell
A tidy bit of business in slot 40, where Avieon Terrell graded well above the range. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick72 Rnd3 Taurean York
They let Taurean York come to them and pounced at the 72nd pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick108 Rnd4 Elijah Sarratt
Taking Elijah Sarratt in No. 108 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick147 Rnd5 Lee Hunter
A reach on Lee Hunter in pick 147; the board had better options right there. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick186 Rnd6 Lawson Luckie
They reached into another round for Lawson Luckie, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick221 Rnd7 Elliot Washington II
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Elliot Washington II at the Round 7 slot is the proof. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick247 Rnd7 Thomas Collins
A big swing on Thomas Collins at the 247th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick249 Rnd7 Javien Toviano
Javien Toviano at slot 249 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
