Draft Grade — Colts
Overall B+
ValueB+ NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
The Colts cashed the board's mistake on Liufau: B+.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Colts watched Marist Liufau slide 45 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. Reaching for Bishop left real value on the table behind him. The Smith pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at quarterback, tight end and other spots.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In pick No. 22 they get a home-run threat at receiver at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick46 Rnd2 Laiatu Latu
Somehow Laiatu Latu was still sitting there in the 46th overall pick, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick82 Rnd3 Cole Bishop
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Cole Bishop well ahead of where he belonged. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick98 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice in pick 98 is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick117 Rnd4 Maason Smith
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Maason Smith adds a DT-EDGE and leaves quarterback, tight end and other spots untouched.
Pick151 Rnd5 Kamal Hadden
Kamal Hadden in No. 151 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick191 Rnd6 Caedan Wallace
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Caedan Wallace. It fills a real need, too.
Pick210 Rnd6 Marist Liufau
The board fumbled Marist Liufau all the way to Round 6, Pick 35, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick234 Rnd7 Frank Gore Jr.
Frank Gore Jr. in the 234th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
