Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Colts never addressed quarterback, and it is the kind of gap that lingers.

Landing Rakestraw Jr. that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They are betting Williams proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September. The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
