The Colts let Tuten fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-. You build a draft on nights like this. Bhayshul Tuten had no business being available in No. 191, and the Colts did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
The back end got a real overhaul.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Jahdae Barron
In pick No. 14 they get a ballhawk on the outside. Need was not the driver here.
Pick45
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell at the 45th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It fills a real need, too.
Pick80
Rnd3
Harold Fannin Jr.
Somehow Harold Fannin Jr. was still sitting there in pick 80, and they pounced on premier tight end value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick116
Rnd4
Malachi Moore
The board fumbled Malachi Moore all the way to No. 116, and they scooped it up. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick152
Rnd5
Darius Alexander
Darius Alexander at slot 152 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick191
Rnd6
Bhayshul Tuten
Bhayshul Tuten in Round 6, Pick 13 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick234
Rnd7
Theo Wease Jr.
Theo Wease Jr. at the 234th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
