Draft Grade — Colts
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesC+ FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Colts for Knight Jr.: B-.

The Colts spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Demetrius Knight Jr., the No. 58 name on the board, in the Round 3 slot. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain. They are betting Monheim proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Job largely done: running back settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick39 Rnd2 Colston Loveland
The board had Colston Loveland higher than the Round 2 slot, and the tight end fell to them anyway. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick41 Rnd2 Grey Zabel
They did well to land Grey Zabel in the 41st overall pick, just ahead of his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick45 Rnd2 Xavier Watts
By-the-book stuff, Xavier Watts at slot 45 squarely in line with his ranking. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick80 Rnd3 Demetrius Knight Jr.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Demetrius Knight Jr. in pick No. 80, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick117 Rnd4 Joshua Farmer
They took Joshua Farmer at par in No. 117, which is nothing to complain about. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick151 Rnd5 Jonah Monheim
Jonah Monheim at Round 5, Pick 13 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick189 Rnd6 Cobee Bryant
A quiet steal in the 189th pick: Cobee Bryant for less than the market said. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick232 Rnd7 Trevor Etienne
They read the board right and Trevor Etienne was the payoff at pick 232. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick233 Rnd7 Miles Frazier
They paid sticker price for Miles Frazier in the Round 7 slot, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
