Draft Grade — Colts
Overall

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Colts: B-. The Colts' one glaring miss is quarterback, a need they left exactly as they found it.
The Bowers pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The Baker pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Brock Bowers
In pick No. 15 they get a moveable chess piece at tight end at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick46
Rnd2
T.J. Tampa
No edge and no loss on T.J. Tampa in the Round 2 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick82
Rnd3
Javon Baker
Javon Baker in Round 3, Pick 18 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick118
Rnd4
Cedric Gray
Cedric Gray at the 118th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick150
Rnd5
Roger Rosengarten
Roger Rosengarten at No. 150 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick193
Rnd6
Zion Tupuola-Fetui
By-the-book stuff, Zion Tupuola-Fetui at pick 193 squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick232
Rnd7
Javontae Jean-Baptiste
Javontae Jean-Baptiste at the 232nd pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. A need, and now a little less of one.
