Draft Grade — Colts
Overall B
ValueA- NeedB- TradesC FutureB+
The Colts let Brown fall and pounced. Final grade: B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Colts were there to profit. Logan Brown, the No. 145 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 211. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

The Castro pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with wide receiver, quarterback and other spots still on the board. They are betting Parr proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.

Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In pick 30 they get a red-zone target to build around, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick45 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Taking Nick Emmanwori in Round 2, Pick 13 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick58 Rnd2 Jalon Walker
Jalon Walker at No. 58 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick80 Rnd3 Donovan Jackson
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Donovan Jackson. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick117 Rnd4 Sebastian Castro
A curious use of slot 117. Wide receiver, quarterback and other spots needed the pick; a safety in Sebastian Castro did not.
Pick166 Rnd5 Seth McLaughlin
Fair-plus on Seth McLaughlin, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It fills a real need, too.
Pick171 Rnd5 Jacob Parrish
They robbed the room for Jacob Parrish here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick189 Rnd6 Bhayshul Tuten
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Bhayshul Tuten in the 189th pick, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick211 Rnd6 Logan Brown
The board fumbled Logan Brown all the way to Round 6, Pick 35, and they scooped it up. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick232 Rnd7 Brandon Adams
A reach on Brandon Adams in the 232nd overall pick; the board had better options right there. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick239 Rnd7 Logan Parr
They liked Logan Parr enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 239. The roster fit checks out.
