Draft Grade — Colts
Overall

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Colts: B-. If confidence were a draft strategy, the Colts would have aced it. Steven Parker at slot 234 is 144 spots clear of where he belonged. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Mukuba. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. Tight end was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The back end got a real overhaul.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Will Johnson
In the Round 1 slot they get a ballhawk on the outside. Need was not the driver here.
Pick45
Rnd2
Jalon Walker
They barely believed it either: Jalon Walker still on the board at No. 45. The roster fit checks out.
Pick80
Rnd3
Harold Fannin Jr.
Harold Fannin Jr. at pick No. 80 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick116
Rnd4
Andrew Mukuba
Somehow Andrew Mukuba was still sitting there in slot 116, and they pounced on premier safety value. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick152
Rnd5
Jake Majors
Jake Majors in the 152nd pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick191
Rnd6
Jackson Slater
A offensive lineman of that caliber at pick 191 is the definition of value, full stop. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick234
Rnd7
Steven Parker
A wild overpay on Steven Parker in the Round 7 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
