The tape said wait; the Colts did not. Frank Gore Jr. went at the Round 6 slot, a good 35 picks before the board was ready. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

Greenfield at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
