Draft Grade — Colts

FutureC+
The Colts won the night they stopped Skattebo from sliding. Grade: B+. The Colts did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Cam Skattebo fell into slot 191. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The veteran additions, Quinyon Mitchell chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren at the 14th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick80
Rnd3
Xavier Watts
They robbed the room for Xavier Watts here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick116
Rnd4
Barrett Carter
Barrett Carter at pick 116 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick191
Rnd6
Cam Skattebo
You do not let a running back like Cam Skattebo reach the Round 6 slot and blink. They did not. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick234
Rnd7
Miles Frazier
The board had cheaper options than Miles Frazier at No. 234, and it noticed. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
