Draft Grade — Colts
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesC+ FutureB
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Colts.

Priorities are a choice, and the Colts made a strange one, taking Jalyx Hunt at S-EDGE in slot 117 with quarterback, running back and other spots crying out for the pick instead. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Hunt reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

However the rest shakes out, Oladapo at that price is a win they earned. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Adonai Mitchell
In the 26th pick they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick46 Rnd2 Ja'Tavion Sanders
They paid a round early for Ja'Tavion Sanders in No. 46, more than the board wanted. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick56 Rnd2 Mekhi Wingo
The board had cheaper options than Mekhi Wingo at pick 56, and it noticed. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick82 Rnd3 Junior Colson
Good price on Junior Colson in the 82nd overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick89 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
No drama and no debate, Zak Zinter went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 26. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick117 Rnd4 Jalyx Hunt
They bypassed pressing needs at quarterback, running back and other spots to take Jalyx Hunt, a S-EDGE that was not the priority.
Pick124 Rnd4 James Williams
They went early on James Williams in the Round 4 slot, and the value did not follow. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick153 Rnd5 Edefuan Ulofoshio
Edefuan Ulofoshio in pick No. 153 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick174 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
Kitan Oladapo at slot 174 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick193 Rnd6 Jordan Magee
They paid up for Jordan Magee at slot 193 when waiting would have done the job. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
