Best value of the weekend goes to the Colts for Harvey: B.

When a board-topper like RJ Harvey slides to the Round 7 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Colts did not. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

They will need Gillotte to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Will Johnson
Nice patience on Will Johnson, who had no business lasting to pick No. 14. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick45 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tyler Booker in No. 45. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick80 Rnd3 Ashton Gillotte
The board had cheaper options than Ashton Gillotte at slot 80, and it noticed. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick117 Rnd4 Jared Wilson
Jared Wilson slid further than he should have, and the 117th overall pick is lovely value for the offensive lineman. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick133 Rnd4 Deone Walker
Taking Deone Walker in Round 4, Pick 31 is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick228 Rnd7 Oronde Gadsden II
A tight end of that caliber at the 228th pick is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick255 Rnd7 RJ Harvey
RJ Harvey in the Round 7 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
