There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Steelers started one anyway for Roger Rosengarten, 51 picks ahead of schedule. Put together, it is a D-.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The Rosengarten pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at quarterback. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.

Smith falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.
