Cobraman DRAFTING FOR THEVikings
Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Vikings: B-. Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Vikings never addressed quarterback, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
Every board in the league had Martinez lower, and that gap is the story. On the needs board they went 2 of 8, with running back the one that mattered most. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Kenneth Grant
In No. 24 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick97
Rnd3
Darius Alexander
A tidy little value on Darius Alexander in pick 97, a step better than break-even. It fills a real need, too.
Pick139
Rnd5
Damien Martinez
Damien Martinez in the 139th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The roster fit checks out.
Pick187
Rnd6
Jason Marshall Jr.
Jason Marshall Jr. at the 187th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A minor itch, scratched.
