Draft Grade — Cardinals

FutureA
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Cardinals a B. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Cardinals started one anyway for Deone Walker, 22 picks ahead of schedule. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Emeka Egbuka
In the 26th overall pick they get a difference-maker at receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick45
Rnd2
Deone Walker
They left a pile of value on the table to take Deone Walker this early at slot 45. It fills a real need, too.
Pick78
Rnd3
Charles Grant
Charles Grant in the Round 3 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
