Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Bills: B-.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Bills took Sai'vion Jones a full 34 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. However the rest shakes out, Grant at that price is a win they earned.

Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the offensive lineman spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
In the 30th pick they get a run-stuffing presence up front at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick56 Rnd2 Trey Amos
A reasonable price with a little left over, Trey Amos in pick No. 56. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick75 Rnd3 Isaiah Bond
A straight-up fair deal on Isaiah Bond at Round 3, Pick 11, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick89 Rnd3 Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba at No. 89 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick109 Rnd4 Sai'vion Jones
They reached a country mile for Sai'vion Jones at the 109th overall pick, and the board is aghast. It fills a real need, too.
Pick143 Rnd5 Mitchell Evans
Mitchell Evans in pick 143 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick152 Rnd5 Bhayshul Tuten
Bhayshul Tuten at slot 152 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick169 Rnd5 Jack Kiser
They went early on Jack Kiser in Round 5, Pick 31, and the value did not follow. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick170 Rnd5 CJ West
A premium they did not need to pay, CJ West a notch or two before his time. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick213 Rnd6 Luke Elzinga
A market-rate specialist, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Luke Elzinga. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
