Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B-
ValueB+ NeedB TradesA+ FutureF
Best value of the weekend goes to the Browns for Sabb: B-.

The Browns did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Keon Sabb fell into pick No. 248. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

The Griffith reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. They went 8 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Ashton Jeanty
In slot 8 they get a lead back with juice. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick28 Rnd1 Will Johnson
The board fumbled Will Johnson all the way to the 28th pick, and they scooped it up. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick39 Rnd2 Xavier Restrepo
They robbed the room for Xavier Restrepo here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick60 Rnd2 Quinn Ewers
Quinn Ewers in pick No. 60 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick64 Rnd2 Aireontae Ersery
A reasonable price with a little left over, Aireontae Ersery in the 64th overall pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick131 Rnd4 Deontae Lawson
Deontae Lawson in Round 4, Pick 30 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick160 Rnd5 Jaeden Roberts
Jaeden Roberts at No. 160 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick165 Rnd5 DeMonte Capehart
DeMonte Capehart at pick 165 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick179 Rnd6 Brady Cook
Brady Cook in the 179th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick195 Rnd6 Mason Taylor
Somehow Mason Taylor was still sitting there in Round 6, Pick 20, and they pounced on premier tight end value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick204 Rnd6 Thor Griffith
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Thor Griffith. It fills a real need, too.
Pick248 Rnd7 Keon Sabb
They will replay Keon Sabb at No. 248 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
