Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
The Bills won the night they stopped Reese from sliding. Grade: B.

Somebody in pick No. 26 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bills sat still while Arvell Reese, the No. 8 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They are betting Oke proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In the 26th pick they get a green-dot type in the middle, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick60 Rnd2 Antonio Williams
Good price on Antonio Williams in pick No. 60, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick91 Rnd3 Genesis Smith
They took Genesis Smith at par in Round 3, Pick 27, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick126 Rnd4 David Oke
They went early on David Oke in the Round 4 slot, and the value did not follow. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick166 Rnd5 Kobe Baynes
No drama and no debate, Kobe Baynes went about where he belonged in No. 166. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick220 Rnd7 Fernando Carmona
They paid sticker price for Fernando Carmona in the 220th overall pick, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick228 Rnd7 J. Michael Sturdivant
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing J. Michael Sturdivant in pick 228. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
