KCCOLE55 DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs

The steal of the weekend belongs to the Chiefs and Rogers: B-. The board owed the Chiefs one, and it paid up: Caleb Rogers, the No. 201 name on the board, sitting there at the 226th pick like a gift left on the doorstep.
The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They will need Tuimoloau to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
JT Tuimoloau
In No. 31 they get a bendy edge with upside, a steep price for the projection. A real need, handled.
Pick63
Rnd2
Alfred Collins
A reasonable price with a little left over, Alfred Collins in slot 63. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick66
Rnd3
Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins slid further than he should have, and pick 66 is lovely value for the wide receiver. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick95
Rnd3
Ozzy Trapilo
A slide stopped in the Round 3 slot, with Ozzy Trapilo worth more than the price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick133
Rnd4
Cody Simon
Cody Simon in the 133rd overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick226
Rnd7
Caleb Rogers
Caleb Rogers at Round 7, Pick 10 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick251
Rnd7
Maxen Hook
A conviction pick on Maxen Hook at the 251st pick that the board grades a round light. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick257
Rnd7
Marcus Yarns
No edge and no loss on Marcus Yarns in pick No. 257; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
