SD DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Chiefs: B. The one they had to fix is still broken. The Chiefs left offensive lineman untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
Landing Stowers that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In pick 9 they get an every-down engine for the run game at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick40
Rnd2
Elijah Sarratt
By-the-book stuff, Elijah Sarratt at Round 2, Pick 8 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick74
Rnd3
Eli Stowers
Nice patience on Eli Stowers, who had no business lasting to No. 74. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick109
Rnd4
D'Angelo Ponds
Nothing to complain about; D'Angelo Ponds went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick146
Rnd5
Albert Regis
No drama and no debate, Albert Regis went about where he belonged in pick No. 146. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick176
Rnd5
Bud Clark
Bud Clark at slot 176 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
