Draft Grade — Chiefs

Best value of the weekend goes to the Chiefs for Campbell: B. Somebody in Round 2, Pick 32 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Chiefs sat still while Jihaad Campbell, the No. 38 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
Felton has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Malaki Starks
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a ballhawk on the back end, and a steal at that.
Pick64
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
A linebacker of that caliber at pick 64 is the definition of value, full stop. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick66
Rnd3
Tai Felton
Tai Felton in slot 66 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick96
Rnd3
Jake Majors
Jake Majors at the Round 3 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick132
Rnd4
Hayden Conner
Hayden Conner in No. 132 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
