Quarterback settled, Williams in the fold, and a C+ for the Bears. They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Caleb Williams is the Bears' quarterback, full stop. Call it a C+ and check back in two years.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. The Worthy pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
A market-rate quarterback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Caleb Williams. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick9
Rnd1
Brock Bowers
In pick 9 they get a mismatch in the passing game at fair value.
Pick32
Rnd1
Kool-Aid McKinstry
In pick No. 32 they get a lockdown presence outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick64
Rnd2
Xavier Worthy
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Xavier Worthy in No. 64. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick75
Rnd3
Kamren Kinchens
Nice patience on Kamren Kinchens, who had no business lasting to slot 75. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
