Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB TradesB- FutureB
A solid, sensible weekend for the Bears: B-.

There is reaching, and then there is Bryce Foster at No. 77. The Bears jumped the board by 66 and dared it to prove them wrong. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

Getting Membou where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 JT Tuimoloau
In pick 15 they get a disruptor off the edge, though they paid up to get him. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick46 Rnd2 Wyatt Milum
Fair-plus on Wyatt Milum, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick49 Rnd2 Dylan Fairchild
Dylan Fairchild at slot 49 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick77 Rnd3 Bryce Foster
Bryce Foster in the 77th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick101 Rnd3 Jaeden Roberts
Value said wait; Jaeden Roberts in the Round 3 slot says they were not listening. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick149 Rnd5 Jaishawn Barham
Jaishawn Barham in pick No. 149 is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick153 Rnd5 Cobee Bryant
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Cobee Bryant at the 153rd pick is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick201 Rnd6 Ricky White III
They will replay Ricky White III at the Round 6 slot for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick245 Rnd7 Armand Membou
You do not let an offensive lineman like Armand Membou reach slot 245 and blink. They did not. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick256 Rnd7 Drew Kendall
They reached a country mile for Drew Kendall at Round 7, Pick 42, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
