The Bears cashed the board's mistake on Grant: A-. If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Bears, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. Add it all up and it grades out a clean A-.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Grant falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Adding Mike McGlinchey by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
Add it up and this is about as clean as a draft weekend gets.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Will Campbell
In No. 10 they get protection for the quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick39
Rnd2
Kenneth Grant
They will replay Kenneth Grant at pick No. 39 for years; that is how good the value is. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick85
Rnd3
Quinshon Judkins
The board had Quinshon Judkins higher than the 85th pick, and the running back fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
