Williams is the Bears' new face under center. Grade: D+.

Somebody took the Bears to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D+ is the result.

Caleb Williams gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. Robinson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.

Caleb Williams at Round 1, Pick 1 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.

In the Round 1 slot they get a plug-and-play piece up front, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.

They talked themselves into Jackson Powers-Johnson at slot 31, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
