The Patrick Payton selection is the head-turner. The Ravens reached 27 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
