You could see the war room lean forward. Deontae Lawson at pick No. 98 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

The cost of the Sapp reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
