Draft Grade — Chiefs

The Chiefs cashed the board's mistake on Sadiq: B-. Somebody in No. 40 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Chiefs sat still while Kenyon Sadiq, the No. 20 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
They will regret leaving offensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. They will need Claiborne to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Good work on the whole, with offensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
T.J. Parker
In pick 9 they get juice off the edge at fair value.
Pick40
Rnd2
Kenyon Sadiq
Kenyon Sadiq at slot 40 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick74
Rnd3
Domonique Orange
Domonique Orange in the 74th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick109
Rnd4
Demond Claiborne
Demond Claiborne in pick No. 109 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick146
Rnd5
Ted Hurst
Ted Hurst at the Round 5 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick176
Rnd5
Josh Moten
A straight-up fair deal on Josh Moten at Round 5, Pick 38, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
