AArod DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall
B
ValueB+
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Chiefs cashed the board's mistake on Horton: B. When a board-topper like Tory Horton slides to slot 133, you do not overthink it, and the Chiefs did not. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. Cook has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
In pick No. 31 they get a moveable chess piece at tight end at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick63
Rnd2
Aireontae Ersery
Aireontae Ersery is a better player than pick 63 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick66
Rnd3
Maxwell Hairston
Maxwell Hairston at No. 66 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick95
Rnd3
Sebastian Castro
They did well to land Sebastian Castro in the Round 3 slot, just ahead of his grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick133
Rnd4
Tory Horton
They barely believed it either: Tory Horton still on the board at the 133rd pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick251
Rnd7
Brady Cook
They reached into another round for Brady Cook, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick257
Rnd7
Eric Gregory
A wild overpay on Eric Gregory in the 257th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
