When a board-topper like Jaydon Blue slides to pick No. 216, you do not overthink it, and the Chiefs did not.

They will need Travis to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The Chiefs indulged a want in Parrish while a need in tight end, quarterback and other spots stayed open. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
