Draft Grade — Chiefs

Haulcy should have been long gone. The Chiefs pounced, and earned a B+. Thirty-one other rooms let A.J. Haulcy slide, and the Chiefs were the ones holding the card at slot 114. Highway robbery. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.
The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Koziol reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
Spencer Fano
In Round 1, Pick 13 they get a building block for the line, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick46
Rnd2
Jonah Coleman
Jonah Coleman at No. 46 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
Pick78
Rnd3
Olaivavega Ioane
They will replay Olaivavega Ioane at pick No. 78 for years; that is how good the value is. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick114
Rnd4
A.J. Haulcy
A.J. Haulcy in the 114th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick153
Rnd5
Tanner Koziol
Tanner Koziol in the 153rd pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick176
Rnd5
Aaron Graves
By-the-book stuff, Aaron Graves at pick 176 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
