Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall

FutureB
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Seahawks a B-. Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Seahawks spent slot 221 on Trajan Jeffcoat, a name most had 87 spots down the list. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Quantity was the play, for better or worse.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Jackson Powers-Johnson
Jackson Powers-Johnson in No. 25 is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick81
Rnd3
Kris Abrams-Draine
They paid sticker price for Kris Abrams-Draine in the 81st pick, and that is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick88
Rnd3
Cedric Gray
Cedric Gray at pick No. 88 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick106
Rnd4
Tommy Eichenberg
Value said wait; Tommy Eichenberg in Round 4, Pick 6 says they were not listening. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick118
Rnd4
Isaac Guerendo
A conviction pick on Isaac Guerendo at the Round 4 slot that the board grades a round light. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick126
Rnd4
Kitan Oladapo
They left a pile of value on the table to take Kitan Oladapo this early at the 126th overall pick. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick169
Rnd5
Walter Rouse
Walter Rouse at the Round 5 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick179
Rnd6
Jordan Jefferson
No edge and no loss on Jordan Jefferson in the 179th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick182
Rnd6
Justin Rogers
They went early on Justin Rogers in slot 182, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick192
Rnd6
Tanner McLachlan
Tanner McLachlan in No. 192 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick221
Rnd7
Trajan Jeffcoat
A real head-scratcher, Trajan Jeffcoat in the 221st overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick235
Rnd7
LaDarius Henderson
They paid up for LaDarius Henderson at pick No. 235 when waiting would have done the job. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
