FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Seahawks: B. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Seahawks started one anyway for Jack Westover, 61 picks ahead of schedule. The bottom line is a respectable B.
Getting Oladapo where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Jer'Zhan Newton
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a load in the middle at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick66
Rnd3
Junior Colson
Junior Colson at pick 66 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick71
Rnd3
Adisa Isaac
The board had Adisa Isaac higher than the 71st overall pick, and the edge rusher fell to them anyway. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick81
Rnd3
Zak Zinter
They reached into another round for Zak Zinter, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick102
Rnd4
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
The board fumbled Dadrion Taylor-Demerson all the way to No. 102, and they scooped it up. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick118
Rnd4
McKinnley Jackson
A big swing on McKinnley Jackson at the 118th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick179
Rnd6
Kitan Oladapo
They robbed the room for Kitan Oladapo here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick186
Rnd6
Tanner McLachlan
Tanner McLachlan at slot 186 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick192
Rnd6
Kimani Vidal
Kimani Vidal at Round 6, Pick 17 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick226
Rnd7
Frank Crum
They talked themselves into Frank Crum at pick No. 226, and the board did not agree. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick235
Rnd7
Jack Westover
Jack Westover in the 235th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It fills a real need, too.
