Draft Grade — Seahawks

Larceny in pick No. 179 lands the Seahawks a B, McCaffrey and all. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Luke McCaffrey got past him. The Seahawks do not have to explain a thing at the 179th pick.
They will need Bishop to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Graham Barton
In slot 27 they get a blindside protector. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick66
Rnd3
Ruke Orhorhoro
They paid sticker price for Ruke Orhorhoro in pick No. 66, and that is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick81
Rnd3
Cole Bishop
A big swing on Cole Bishop at pick 81, well ahead of any board in the building. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick90
Rnd3
Zak Zinter
The board had cheaper options than Zak Zinter at the 90th overall pick, and it noticed. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick102
Rnd4
Cedric Gray
A reach on Cedric Gray in the Round 4 slot; the board had better options right there. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick118
Rnd4
Theo Johnson
By-the-book stuff, Theo Johnson at the 118th pick squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick179
Rnd6
Luke McCaffrey
The board fumbled Luke McCaffrey all the way to No. 179, and they scooped it up. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick192
Rnd6
Jaylen Harrell
Jaylen Harrell in Round 6, Pick 17 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick235
Rnd7
Kimani Vidal
Value said wait; Kimani Vidal in No. 235 says they were not listening. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
