Draft Grade — Panthers
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Panthers kept it disciplined and banked a B. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Panthers did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to cornerback, which was the need that mattered most. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
However the rest shakes out, Sarratt at that price is a win they earned. On the needs board they went 2 of 9, with wide receiver the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick19
Rnd1
Cashius Howell
In the 19th pick they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick51
Rnd2
Elijah Sarratt
Elijah Sarratt in pick 51 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
