Paul1122 DRAFTING FOR THEChargers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Chargers
Overall
B-
ValueC-
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Chargers: B-. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Chargers reached some 43 spots for Da'Shawn Womack, and value like that does not grow back.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
A'Mauri Washington
In slot 22 they get a load in the middle, even if it was a touch early. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick55
Rnd2
Kelley Jones
They jumped the gun on Kelley Jones, taking him earlier than his grade liked. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick86
Rnd3
Kade Pieper
A straight-up fair deal on Kade Pieper at the Round 3 slot, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick123
Rnd4
Da'Shawn Womack
Da'Shawn Womack at Round 4, Pick 23 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick202
Rnd6
Cody Jackson
Cody Jackson at pick 202 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
