Draft Grade — Chargers

FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Chargers. The tape said wait; the Chargers did not. Trey Zuhn III went at the 206th pick, a good 29 picks before the board was ready.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Slaughter value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 2 of 8 of the wish list covered. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In slot 25 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker at a price that makes it sweeter. More want than need.
Pick59
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
Somehow Jake Slaughter was still sitting there in the Round 2 slot, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick90
Rnd3
A'Mauri Washington
Taking A'Mauri Washington in pick 90 is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick125
Rnd4
Chase Bisontis
Chase Bisontis at the 125th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick206
Rnd6
Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III at No. 206 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
