Nobody else had Braylan Shelby anywhere near the 202nd overall pick. The Chargers did, by 38 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

That is an interior defensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
