Call it larceny. Jake Slaughter sat on the board until pick No. 86, and the Chargers did not need to be asked twice.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
