Draft Grade — Chargers
Overall

FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Chargers: B-. They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Chase Bisontis, 38 picks early at Round 3, Pick 25. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In the Round 1 slot they get a downhill thumper at linebacker, outstanding value to boot.
Pick58
Rnd2
A'Mauri Washington
They went early on A'Mauri Washington in pick No. 58, and the value did not follow. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick89
Rnd3
Chase Bisontis
A wild overpay on Chase Bisontis in No. 89, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick126
Rnd4
Iapani Laloulu
Iapani Laloulu at the 126th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick205
Rnd6
Bryce Foster
Bryce Foster in pick 205 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
