Draft Grade — Chargers
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Chargers let Lachey fall and pounced. Final grade: B-.

When a board-topper like Luke Lachey slides to Round 4, Pick 15, you do not overthink it, and the Chargers did not.

A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want. They are betting Muhammad III proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Harold Perkins Jr.
In the 15th overall pick they get a downhill thumper at linebacker. Need was not the driver here.
Pick47 Rnd2 TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson in slot 47 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick79 Rnd3 Dontay Corleone
They barely believed it either: Dontay Corleone still on the board at pick 79. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick111 Rnd4 Luke Lachey
Steal is underselling it; Luke Lachey at the Round 4 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick143 Rnd5 Moose Muhammad III
Moose Muhammad III in No. 143 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick162 Rnd6 Jaeden Roberts
Nothing to complain about; Jaeden Roberts went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Pick175 Rnd6 Hunter Wohler
Hunter Wohler in pick No. 175 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick207 Rnd7 Sean Martin
They jumped the gun on Sean Martin, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick209 Rnd7 Garrett Nussmeier
Circle this one: Garrett Nussmeier at Round 7, Pick 17 is a fall that decides a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
