Draft Grade — Chargers
Overall
C+
ValueA-

FutureC
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Chargers and Harris: C+. Somebody in Round 7, Pick 35 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Chargers sat still while Tre Harris, the No. 48 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.
If Landon Jackson and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Landon Jackson
In the 22nd overall pick they get a bendy edge with upside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick41
Rnd2
Grey Zabel
They read the board right and Grey Zabel was the payoff at pick No. 41. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick55
Rnd2
Tyler Warren
Steal is underselling it; Tyler Warren at No. 55 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick86
Rnd3
Jahdae Barron
Jahdae Barron at slot 86 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick124
Rnd4
Alfred Collins
The board fumbled Alfred Collins all the way to pick 124, and they scooped it up. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick159
Rnd5
TreVeyon Henderson
Taking TreVeyon Henderson in the 159th pick is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick177
Rnd5
Jake Majors
They barely believed it either: Jake Majors still on the board at Round 5, Pick 38. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick183
Rnd6
Malachi Moore
Malachi Moore in the Round 6 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick201
Rnd6
Jihaad Campbell
They robbed the room for Jihaad Campbell here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick215
Rnd6
Wyatt Milum
Wyatt Milum at pick 215 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick220
Rnd7
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in slot 220 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick253
Rnd7
Tre Harris
Somehow Tre Harris was still sitting there in pick No. 253, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
