The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Chiefs reached some 43 spots for Marquis Johnson, and value like that does not grow back. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Hood. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
