CheeseBurger Pardise DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall
B-
ValueB
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Chiefs checked most of the boxes and earned a B-. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Chiefs did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to wide receiver, which was the need that mattered most. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
However the rest shakes out, Love at that price is a win they earned. They will need Tiernan to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In the 15th overall pick they get a centerpiece for the ground game at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick46
Rnd2
Quincy Rhodes Jr.
A straight-up fair deal on Quincy Rhodes Jr. at the Round 2 slot, value and slot in agreement. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick80
Rnd3
Caleb Tiernan
Caleb Tiernan at pick 80 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick115
Rnd4
D'Angelo Ponds
They did well to land D'Angelo Ponds in slot 115, just ahead of his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick154
Rnd5
Tanner Koziol
They went early on Tanner Koziol in No. 154, and the value did not follow. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick176
Rnd5
Terion Stewart
Terion Stewart at the 176th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
