Wounded Knee DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs

Draft Grade — Chiefs

FutureB-
The Chiefs let Sarratt fall into their laps, and walked away with a B. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Elijah Sarratt got past him. The Chiefs do not have to explain a thing at pick No. 79. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
The cost of the Jatta reach is exactly the players who went right after him. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
The skill positions did well by the weekend.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In No. 14 they get an every-down engine for the run game at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick45
Rnd2
Trevor Goosby
They paid a round early for Trevor Goosby in slot 45, more than the board wanted. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick79
Rnd3
Elijah Sarratt
They robbed the room for Elijah Sarratt here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick114
Rnd4
D'Angelo Ponds
They took D'Angelo Ponds at par in the Round 4 slot, which is nothing to complain about. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick153
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
Value said wait; Davison Igbinosun in pick 153 says they were not listening. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick176
Rnd5
Isaiah Jatta
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Isaiah Jatta well ahead of where he belonged. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick213
Rnd6
Lee Hunter
A reasonable price with a little left over, Lee Hunter in Round 6, Pick 33. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick219
Rnd7
DeAndre Moore Jr.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on DeAndre Moore Jr.. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
