Draft Grade — Rams
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Rams a B-. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Rams walked out of the weekend still thin at wide receiver, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons.
The cost of the Lomu reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They left with safety solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The back end got a real overhaul.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Jermod McCoy
No drama and no debate, Jermod McCoy went about where he belonged in the 9th overall pick. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick31
Rnd1
Caleb Lomu
A conviction pick on Caleb Lomu at Round 1, Pick 31 that the board grades a round light. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick63
Rnd2
Rod Moore
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Rod Moore. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
